Slovak E-Invoicing: Where Things Stand
Slovakia governs public-sector e-invoicing through Act 215/2019 on guaranteed electronic invoicing, which provides a state invoicing system reached through a single access point at the Ministry of Finance. The Act does not name PEPPOL, so whether a PEPPOL-delivered invoice is accepted depends on the route your contracting authority uses — please confirm it with them. An amendment (385/2025) changes the regime from 1 January 2027. EncryptInvoice generates EN 16931 invoices and delivers over PEPPOL.
- PEPPOL Access Point connectivity for Slovakia
- PEPPOL BIS 3.0 / UBL 2.1 (EN 16931) invoice format

- IČ DPH format + VIES pre-checks (users confirm Financial Administration records)

Frequently Asked Questions
Is e-invoicing mandatory in Slovakia right now?
For the public sector, invoicing is governed by Act 215/2019 on guaranteed electronic invoicing, which provides a state invoicing system via a Ministry of Finance access point. The Act does not name PEPPOL, so please confirm with your contracting authority which channel it accepts. A change of regime takes effect on 1 January 2027 under amendment 385/2025. EncryptInvoice generates EN 16931 invoices and delivers over PEPPOL.
What network and format will Slovakia use for B2B?
The regime changes on 1 January 2027 under amendment 385/2025. We are not describing what it will require until we have read it, and EncryptInvoice makes no claim of support for it. Today we generate EN 16931-compliant invoices and deliver them over PEPPOL.
How does IČ DPH (VAT number) validation work?
We run IČ DPH format checks (SK followed by ten digits) and EU VIES pre-checks to flag issues before you send. Please confirm official Slovak Financial Administration records for final accuracy.
Can I invoice clients in other EU countries?
Yes! Through PEPPOL, you can send e-invoices to 27+ European countries, including all EU members. Cross-border format conversion is handled automatically.
